The rectory renovation project is well underway and your generosity has made it possible. We will offer updates on the rectory project as the year progresses through the Parish Update email, Sunday bulletin and the parish website.
After thirty six years it should come as no surprise this month when Bishop McGrath asks for our support to participate in the Annual Diocesan Appeal. The theme for this year’s campaign is “Proclaiming God’s Love, Together in Christ” as we enter the second month of this New Calendar Year.
Your financial support makes possible all the offices and departments, services and ministries outlined in this year’s campaign brochure that benefit the parishes and parish activities. Your generosity helps support the spiritual and temporal needs of people beyond our parish boundaries enabling the larger church to grow.
Our parish’s goal this year is $74,857, a $1,779 decrease from last year. I am adding a challenge goal of $25,143 for ongoing maintenance and repair for a total of $100,000. As I wrote last fall we had over $129,000 in repairs that came out of reserves and restricted donations. I am grateful that 231 families participated in the ADA campaign in 2016 pledging $83,484, a fantastic response for an average gift of $361.
Again, I am asking each family to consider a pledge of $450 or $45 per month payable over ten months. For those who are blessed and are able to give more, we depend on your extra generosity and sacrifice. Every gift is appreciated, no amount is too small.
This is pre-pledge weekend, and Bill Zillman will speak at the Masses, on February 11 & 12, which is pledge weekend, everyone will have an opportunity to return their pledge card to support the work and ministries of the Bishop so that we can “Proclaim God’s Love, Together in Christ.” Remember you can fulfill your pledge through electronic fund transfer, credit card, stock transfers, one time payments or recurring payments. Thank you for your support and God bless you for your continuing support of Saint Anthony Parish and the Diocese. Working together we can reach this goal, remember every dollar received over the diocesan goal comes back to the parish.
