From the Pastor’s Desk: January 24, 2016

Last fall we had a very successful campaign to raise funds for the rectory remodel. I am grateful and overwhelmed at your generosity. We will be giving regular updates on the rectory project as the year
progresses.

After thirty six years it should come as no surprise that Bishop McGrath asks for our support to participate in the Annual Diocesan Appeal. The theme for this year’s campaign is “Rejoicing in God’s Mercy, Together in Christ” as we enter into this jubilee year announced by Pope Francis, the Jubilee Year of Mercy. Your financial support makes possible all the offices and departments, services and ministries outlined in this year’s campaign brochure that benefit the parishes and parish activities. Your generosity helps the spiritual and temporal needs of people beyond our parish boundaries enabling the larger church to grow.

Our parish’s goal this year is $76,636, a six dollar increase from last year. I am adding a modest challenge goal of $3,364 for ongoing maintenance and repair for a total of $80,000. I am grateful that 236 families participated in the ADA campaign last year pledging $101,262.32 a fantastic response. Last year’s rebate went to the rectory project.

Again, I am asking each family to prayerfully consider a pledge of $400 or $40 per month payable over ten months. For those who are blessed and are able to give more, we depend on your extra generosity and sacrifice. Every gift is appreciated, no amount is too small.

Please return your completed pledge card to the parish by placing it in the bucket provided at Mass. or drop off or send to the parish office as soon as possible to support the work and ministries of the Bishop so that we can “Rejoicing in God’s Mercy, Together in Christ.” Remember you can fulfill your pledge through electronic fund transfer, your credit card, stock transfers, one time payments and/or recurring payments. Thank you for your support and God bless you for your continuing support of Saint Anthony Parish and the Diocese.

If for some reason you did not receive a pledge card, please ask an usher at Mass for one, ask me or call the parish office and we will provide a pledge card and brochure for you as soon as you let us know.
Blessings – Father Larry
