Pastoral Council

The purpose of this Council is to act as a planning and consultative voice of the parishioners of Saint Anthony Parish to provide information to assist the pastor in his pastoral leadership responsibility. Meetings are held monthly.

Members include:  Dede Adams, Nelson Gonzales, Leo Hartung, Mark Houde, Jo Iseman, Vince Macaluso, Joann Maier,
                                Bertha Minnihan, Karen Pelosi, Jean Rummelhoff, Ken Wadors

 

DESCRIPTION OF THE COMMITTEES AT SAINT ANTHONY PARISH

 Buildings & Grounds Committee
Assists in the continued and new maintenance work that makes our Parish buildings and grounds welcoming and beautiful. Looking for talented persons with backgrounds in painting, plumbing, carpentry, or general handyman skills. Contact Dan Hillman at 268-3834.

 C.R.E.A.T.E.
(Community Religious Education Appealing to Everyone)
Catechists and Catechist Aides are in a classroom environment modeling and sharing their faith and the faith of the
Church with the children in pre-kidergarten thru 8th grade (elementary - junior high) on a weekly basis for one
hour beginning in September and ending in April.     Contact Joann Maier at 997-4808.

 
Finance Committee

Advises the Pastor on the temporal affairs and manages the fiscal requirements of the parish, including an annual operating budget; ensures compliance of generally accepted accounting principles.  These are appointed positions that require that the interested candidates have some financial and accounting background. Looking for new members for 2008-2009, contact Fr. Larry at 997-4800.

Fundraising Committee

Schedules and arranges fundraising events while building community for the growing needs of our parish family. Contact John Gerhardt at 927-9224.


Generations of Faith

An intergenerational faith experience through the sharing of food, activities, small group discussion and prayer. This opportunity occurs twice a year, once in the Fall and once in the Spring. Catechists, assistants, food preparation, and decorators are welcome. Contact Mollie Tobias at 997-0738.

Hospitality Committee

The members of this committee sponsor, organize and put on the monthly coffee and donuts after all the Masses. The committee is looking for people to specifically assist with picking up the donuts, serving after Mass, and cleaning up after the last Mass. Please contact Sandi McMaster at 927-5832.


Infant Baptism Preparation Team

A team member offers a preparation session from prepared materials to parents asking to have their children baptized.  A wonderful opportunity to receive training, share your faith, give witness to your faith one Saturday a month from 9:30 am to 11:00  a.m. here at the church. Liturgy Board and Liturgical Ministries

Minister to the parish community in the preparation for and the celebration of all our liturgical celebrations.  Fully initiated Catholics are welcome to serve on the Liturgy Board, and/or in one or more of the following liturgical ministries: Art & Environment, Liturgy Sacristan, Sanctuary Sacristan, Laundry Sacristan, Eucharistic Ministers, Music Ministers, Lectors, Liturgy of the Word for Children, Children’s Liturgy, Altar Servers, and Ministers of Hospitality/Ushers. We are looking for parishioners to participate in all of these ministries. Contact Mollie Tobias at 997-0738.


Marriage Preparation Team

A couple who was married in the Catholic Church after receiving the necessary training presents to engaged couples four sessions from the Picture of Love Marriage Preparation Program on the critical components of married life:  communication, conflict resolution, finances, spirituality, sacrament and ceremony. These sessions occur in the home of the preparation couple.  Please contact the coordinator couple, Jean and Gary Rummelhoff at 268-2676.


Mary, Martha & Joseph Committee

These “Saints” take turns in keeping the Little Church and the
Big Church clean, neat and tidy. Contact Barbara Schroeder at 997-6910.

 Office Assistance
Peggy, the Office Manager, is always looking for people to assist with parish mailings, general filing and other support needs.  Please contact the parish office at 997-4800.

 Outreach
Serving the needs of our parish and local community is the main focus of this committee, including Neighbor 4 Neighbor.  There are several events throughout the year, including the toiletries drive, dinners at homeless shelters, Christmas in July, Thanksgiving meals, Christmas Giving Tree, etc. Contact

Pastoral Care Team

Ministry to the sick, homebound, dying and the grieving. Contact Cookie Ruschin at 268-4517.

 

RCIA/RCIC Team
(Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults and Youth/Rite of Christian Initiation for Children)

A team of people who support the coordinator to form, catechize and prepare un-baptized adults/children or people already baptized for initiation into the Catholic faith. It is an opportunity to give witness to your faith to those who desire to become fully initiated Catholics. We are forming the team this year 2007-2008; interested persons may contact Alvaro Moreno at 362-9709.

Seniors

This social group gathers monthly, usually First Friday of each month and serves those 50 & older by planning many exciting outings and events while also bringing in revenue for our parish. Contact the President, Renee Stokes at 268-3082.

 
Social Committee

Promotes, organizes and presents social events to bring our parish family together. The committee is always looking for chair people and workers for each event.  Contact Joe Fiorentino at 268-3358.


Social Justice Committee

This is a brand new committee that studies the social justice issues presented through the Diocesan Office of Human Concerns, members attend workshops and prepare a priority list of issues in order to educate parishioners on these issues.  Please contact Father Larry at 997-4800.

 
Young Adult Group

We are interested in starting a young adult group here at Saint Anthony Parish. All young adults 18-35, single or married are invited to participate.  Please contact Nicole Lecheler at

Welcoming Committee

This committee contacts newly registered parishioners to welcome them to the parish. The committee is under development and would appreciate a few interested persons to broaden this ministry. Please contact the chairperson, Dayna Morton at 268-4751.

X-StATIC

(High School Youth Ministry)

This ministry serves high school age students from Saint Anthony along with the Youth Minister, Nelson Gonzales.  Adult and young adult volunteers assist with Sunday meetings, chaperoning, modeling Gospel values, mentoring and helping out in other areas as needed. The youth ministry program is looking for interested adults and young adults to support the youth throughout the year.  This ministry requires a background check.  Contact Nelson at 997-4812 or Email him at
